Thank you to all who help with Nursing Home Care Packages on February 11, 2017!

Where: Epworth United Methodist Church, 1953 Hopkins Street, Berkeley

When: 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Bring the whole family to assemble care packages for elderly residents of a local skilled nursing facility.  After completing the packages, we will deliver them to the Kyakameena Care Center at 2131 Carleton Street in Berkeley.

We will also have a letter writing station for anyone interested in reaching out to local state and federal representatives on topics such as Medicare and Social Security.

Participants are asked to bring items from the list below according to last name.  All are welcome to assist with assembling the kits, even if you are unable to bring donated items.

Last names A-L

  • magnifying glass
    handkerchief
    chapstick
  • hand lotion
  • books, such as mystery novels or puzzle books, preferably large print
  • playing cards

Last names M-Z

  • small puzzles (no more than 100 pieces)
  • slip-proof socks
  • scarf
  • bookmarks
  • comb and brush set
  • soap
